2nd International Workshop for Mangrove Biodiversity Studies by eDNA Metabarcoding
24 - 27 June, 2022
at Iriomote Station, Tropical Biosphere Research Center, University of the Ryukyus, Japan
Sponsored by JSPS Core to Core, AJ-CORE JRP, e-ASIA JRP, and KAKENHI International (B)
Welcome to Iriomote Station!
We are pleased to hold the “2nd International Workshop for Mangrove Biodiversity Studies by eDNA Metabarcoding” at Iriomote Station, Tropical Biosphere Research Center (TBRC), University of the Ryukyus, Japan.
The international collaboration project for eDNA research on global mangroves started in 2020 by obtaining support from JSPS Core to Core, but we haven't had any face-to-face meetings with coordinators because of the outbreak of Covid-19.
In June 2022, Japanese border measures allowed visitors from some countries without quarantines. By obtaining great support from the admin office of the University of Ryukyus, we hold an international workshop inviting coordinators and PIs from nine countries. We will report the progress and situation in member countries, exchange ideas and plans, and develop frameworks for further collaboration of "After-Corona".
