We are pleased to hold the “8th International Workshop for Mangrove Biodiversity Studies by eDNA Metabarcoding” at Iriomote Station, Tropical Biosphere Research Center (TBRC), University of the Ryukyus, Japan. This workshop is in conjunction with a class at Graduate School of Agriculture, University of the Ryukyus "熱帯植物多様性特論I・II."
The 2nd international collaboration project for eDNA research on global mangroves started in 2024 by obtaining support from JSPS Core to Core.
We will explore the use of eDNA metabarcoding for biodiversity monitoring, in this case, not only for fish but also for plants, with workshop participants from Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia. In one week intensive course, we explore the basics and advances of eDNA metabarcoding.
