Our international collaboration to study the biodiversity of global mangrove ecosystems using environmental DNA (eDNA) began in 2020 with support from JSPS Core-to-Core, and has since evolved into a broader, long-term international collaboration. As we take a step forward to the next stage of this collaboration, we are excited to announce the launch of a new workshop: "Mangrove Environmental DNA Scientific Writing Boot Camp 2025".
This Boot Camp is a first-of-its-kind event that brings together early-career researchers as well as established researchers from multiple countries who have both the motivation and skills to publish. Over the course of one intensive week at the University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM), each participant will focus on drafting and completing a full manuscript for submission. Surrounded by peers working in the same research field, participants will have the opportunity to exchange feedback, receive mentoring, and make significant progress in academic writing.
This workshop not only aims to increase high-quality scientific outputs from the JSPS Core-to-Core collaboration, but also to foster an international network of next-generation researchers committed to advancing eDNA-based biodiversity research. The UNM campus provides an ideal environment for this focused and collaborative writing experience, and we anticipate significant outcomes from this new effort.
*Some selected participants will stay on campus until 29th June for additional data analyses and manuscript preparation.
