Welcome to Iriomote Station!

We are pleased to hold the “2nd International Workshop for Mangrove Biodiversity Studies by eDNA Metabarcoding” at Iriomote Station, Tropical Biosphere Research Center (TBRC), University of the Ryukyus, Japan.

The international collaboration project for eDNA research on global mangroves started in 2020 by obtaining support from JSPS Core to Core, but we haven't had any face-to-face meetings with coordinators because of the outbreak of Covid-19.

In October 2022, by obtaining great support from the admin office of the University of Ryukyus, we hold an international workshop inviting younger researchers from the Philippines, Malaysia, and Thailand. In a three-week advanced course, we explore the use and possibilities of eDNA metabarcoding for biodiversity studies in Mangroves.
